Biography - Composer
 
Lenny Sayers is becoming increasingly recognised as a composer. The Fell Clarinet Quartet, the Intriplicate Trio and the Sterling Trio have all released CDs featuring his music, and his compositions have been played on BBC Radio 3 and BBC Radio Scotland. His arrangements of Klezmer music have proved particularly popular and have been performed throughout the world, including a performance by members of the U.S. Marine Band in the White House. Lenny particularly enjoys writing music that is entertaining and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. His music for children, regularly performed by the Glasgow-based ensemble Danielís Beard, has proved a big hit in Scotland and was featured in 2012 and in 2014 by BBC Radio Scotland on its show 'Classics Unwrapped', and in August 2014 at the Edinburgh Fringe.
In 2012 his first composition for wind orchestra, 'Nightfall', reached the quarter finals of the international composing competition 'Coups de Vents'.
